The memory of a former Muskoka child still lives on in students across the region.
On Thursday morning, kids from eight schools across Muskoka came to Macaulay Public School to take part in the annual Evan Luker Run.
Teacher George Bush is an organizer of the event and says it wouldn’t be able to continue without help from the volunteer parents and students.
Last year Evan’s mom passed away from cancer and Bush says her last request was that the run continues on.
His father Art Luker was at the event and had some special words to share with the students about his son and his love of running.
During the run, the school also held a bake sale with proceeds going to Sick Kids.
