Snow is almost here, and our local OPP is reminding snowmobilers to be safe.
Constable Tim Negus says check how thick the ice is from the MNRF before riding on it. Negus says remember no ice is safe ice, and conditions are always changing.
He says to watch out for rocks, stumps, docks, pressure cracks, and open water. Negus says to always follow, and stay on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Club trails.
He says the speed limit is 50 kilometres on the trails, and 20 kilometres on the streets.
