Be careful on the roads this afternoon. We could be seeing near whiteout conditions because of heavy snow. If you’re stuck on the highway in bad weather; slow down, leave lots of space, and make sure your headlights are turned on.
All of the major highways in the area are snow covered. That includes Highway 11, 60, and 141. So far, no road closures or crashes have been reported.
Moderate to heavy traffic is being reported heading southbound on Highway 11 moving past Gravenhurst. There is also heavy traffic reported in the southbound lane near Orillia.
The MTO is reporting poor visibility along Highway 11 as the snowfall picks up.
Huntsville is seeing some issues on Muskoka Road 2, a transport is in the ditch right now, with reports coming in of very slippery conditions. Ravenscliffe Road traffic is also reportedly being detoured to Fowlers Road.
