Local realtors association putting $17K into cottage country shelters

Putting a bit of money aside every month is adding up to a financial boost for local shelters. Every member of The Lakelands Association of Realtors has been donating cash every month over the last year, and now the association has $17,000 to allocate.

President of The Lakelands, Mike Stahls, says the board is going to donate that money to shelter-based charities across Muskoka, Haliburton and Orillia.

Stahls says this initiative is through the Ontario Realtors Care Foundation, which is in its 40th year.

Shelter-based charities can apply for funding through the The Lakelands website.
