Zehr’s is asking customers to add a toonie to their grocery bill to support active living opportunities for children. It’s the Give a Little, Help A Lot Campaign, running from July 27th to August 9th, a shared effort between the YMCA of Simcoe-Muskoka and the Zehr’s chain.
Participating stores in Alliston, Big Bay Point, Bradford, Duckworth, Essa Road and Orillia will be asking customers to add $2 to their grocery bill to support the initiative.
Brian Shelley of the YMCA says it is about giving all kids a chance to experience things like Day Camps, After School Programs, sports and swimming through health and fitness memberships.
“The Give a Little, Help a Lot campaign enables children, no matter their financial circumstances, to attend the Y to get active, learn new skills, gain confidence and make new friends,” says Shelley.
Zehr’s Markets has been working with the YMCA for nine years to create opportunities for children to enjoy a healthier life.
