The old Bracebridge Fire Station on Dominion Street is going to be rezoned.
A draft by-law is being presented at this week’s council meeting that would change the zoning of the now empty hall from institutional to commercial.
A number of alternate uses are listed in a supporting document discussing what might become of the facility that was made obsolete with the opening of the new Taylor Hall Fire Station #1 earlier this year.
The uses include as any number of types of studios for art, video and photography production, a daycare, or some form of retail space.
Council will have to approve the zoning change before any type of considerations can be made for alternate uses.
