Over $32,000 was raised for the Fairvern Nursing Home recently.
The popular annual Paddling for Fairvern saw 64 paddlers navigate a 15 km course between Hutcheson Beach and Hidden Valley Beach.
Their efforts were appreciated by the residents and staff who displayed a big sign outside, saying Thank You, Paddlers!
Totaling the paddler’s efforts with those contributions from the corporate world of Muskoka the amount balloons to $52,000.
The funds are an important piece to the expansion and renovation of the home, which recently received approval from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care for a new 96-bed facility that will be located next to the Huntsville Hospital.
Funds from the event will be directed to the not-for-profit long-term care aspect of the home’s redevelopment.
