Huntsville Roads Budget Experiencing Washout with Recent Rains

The town of Huntsville is experiencing a few problems with road washouts following heavy rains in the area.

A totalĀ of four roads have seen washouts due to culverts failing.

Silver Sands Road was closed for part of the day Wednesday and has since been reopened with one lane of access, but work is continuing.

Other roads affected include Williamsport Road, Old North Road and Westpoint Sands road.

A report at a recent committee meeting pegged the cost of repair at $150,000 which is going to possibly affect some paving projects.
