Towns throughout Muskoka have met with the government officials reviewing municipal government in the province.
The District of Muskoka and the six municipalities held meetings with Special Advisors Michael Fenn and Ken Seiling. They are going to recommend to the Doug Ford government what if any changes should be made to the 82 upper and lower-tier municipalities in the province.
The pair met with John Klinck, as well as mayors Graydon Smith (Town of Bracebridge), Paul Kelly (Town of Gravenhurst), Scott Aitchison (Town of Huntsville), Peter Koetsier (Township of Georgian Bay), Terry Glover (Township of Lake of Bays), and Phil Harding (Township of Muskoka Lakes).
The advisors are seeking feedback from area residents to provide their thoughts on changes to how local government is run.
“Providing input is vital in helping the Special Advisors make the best recommendations to the provincial government, and it is my hope that all people who wish to have a say on the Regional Government model are able to participate,” says Bracebridge Mayor Graydon Smith.
