Two dozen firefighters were needed to get a cottage fire under control on Peninsula Road in West Gravenhurst.
The Gravenhurst Fire Department responded to the fire around 6:30pm yesterday on Highway 169 west of town.
A total of eight trucks and 25 crew from Stations 1 and 2 responded. When they arrived the roof of the structure had a partially collapsed with flames coming through, there were fallen hydro lines and nearby propane tanks.
Water tankers were used to get water on site as firefighters started pouring water into the interior of the house.
Two hours after they had arrived the fire was declared under control.
No cause of the fire has been determined and there were no injuries. The cottage was lost with a total damage estimate of $350,000.
