Labour protest organized for Norm Miller’s Bracebridge office

A protest about Ontario’s minimum wage is being held in Bracebridge.

No Workers Left Behind will be holding a rally in front of Parry Sound Muskoka MPP Norm Miller’s office on Manitoba Street.

We are calling on Norm Miller to represent his community at Queen’s Park and strongly oppose any policy or legislation that results in job losses or reduces the rights of workers,” says co-organizer Meghan MacDonald. “ No worker should be left behind – we need 2 paid sick days, $15 minimum wage and fairer scheduling.”

MacDonald notes that employment income is up to 21 per cent lower than the rest of the province and it is estimated 13 per cent of residents in Muskoka are living in poverty.

The rally is expected to start at 4:30, 165 Manitoba Street, Bracebridge.
