A state of emergency has ended in Huntsville.
The announcement came out as part of the town’s daily media update.
With water levels dropping on Mary Lake by up to seven centimetres and river flows declining, Mayor Scott Aitchison made the call to end the declaration.
The Mayor declared a State of Emergency on April 24th.
Officials are anticipating a steady decrease as water makes its way through the system and will continue to monitor conditions.
Advisories such as not drinking well water that has been contaminated with floods and navigation warnings issued by Transport Canada will remain in effect.
A sandbag drop-off has been created as well for residents at Madill Yard (169 Madill Church Road, Huntsville.) Sandbags should be considered contaminated waste. Drop-off hours are from 8:30am to 4:30pm.
