BRACEBRIDGE, ON – Some local festivals and events got some good news from the Town of Bracebridge.
Over $30,000 has been granted to organizations through the town’s annual Event Tourism Grant Program.
In announcing the awards, Mayor Graydon Smith said having these events in town is very important to draw tourists to the area.
“The Town’s funds assist these events in attracting out of town visitors, by enhancing their unique programming and leveraging other funding opportunities,” said Smith.
It is estimated that the events that receive funding attract around 25,000 people to the area, many of whom are out of town visitors that will spend in various ways such as accommodations, restaurants and shopping. This becomes an economic multiplier in the local economy.
