GRAVENHURST, ON – For almost three decades people have flocked to Gravenhurst enjoy local artists.
The Dockside Festival of the Arts is entering its 28th year in Muskoka. It is put on by the Gravenhurst Chamber of Commerce and it celebrates artisans from not just locally but around the province.
Some of the highlights are the music,” Chris Hammer chamber member said. “We have a lot of great local artists ranging from Sean Cotton, Tobin Spring and James Grace who we are really excited about. We also have a great kids lineup.”
There will also be vendors with art, handcrafted jewelry, sculptures and food available.
Hammer said this year is a little bit different than those in the past.
“I think we are trying to put a bigger focus on music this year and exposure for more of the local artists,” Hammer said. “One of the big up and comers is Sawyer Lance.”
Lance’s music is described as powerful and soulful with his lyrics being raw, honest and captivating.
The event runs from all weekend running from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday then 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
The entry fee is a donation of whatever attendees can afford and Hammer said the money goes towards putting on next year’s event.
