GRAVENHURST, ON – It looks like the people of Gravenhurst will get to decide how to revitalize the Muskoka Wharf.
In a release from the town, an eight-month project was announced, aimed at giving the community cornerstone a facelift.
“We were thrilled with the amount of people who came out to the project launch meeting at the Marriott,” Jeff Loney, manager of economic development, said in the release. “It was very clear that our community is passionate about the Wharf. We need to maintain this momentum and continue to hear from as many people as possible about the Wharf’s future.”
The released added the Wharf Revitalization Survey is already available online. The decision followed a September 11th launch to the project, which the town called successful and well attended.
Town officials said residents were invited to share what they love about the Wharf and ideas for its future.
The survey is the next step in the process and will give all Gravenhurst residents the chance to provide feedback.
“The Wharf Revitalization Survey is critical in helping the Town understand why residents visit the Wharf, or why they don’t,” Leanne Fetterley, Wharf revitalization coordinator said in the release. “This is an opportunity to gather ideas and suggestions for potential improvements to the location.”
Anyone who takes the survey has a chance to win one of two $50 Gravenhurst Dollars prizes that can be redeemed at multiple downtown businesses.
The survey is available online until November 7th. It can be taken online or in-person by contacting the Wharf Revitalization Coordinator.
