MUSKOKA, ON – There are reportedly new developments in the murders of four seniors in Muskoka dating back 20 years ago.
The CBC’s Fifth estate tweeted the program will be sitting down with the lead investigator during an episode of the show this Sunday night.
John Crofts, 70, John Semple, 89, Ralph Grant, 69, and 77-year-old Joan Lawrence went missing between 1998 and 1999. Lawrence was somewhat of a local celebrity, known as “the Cat Lady” because she lived with dozens of cats in a shed.
After a nine-year investigation, the police decided to treat the disappearances as homicides.
The only thing the four seemed to have in common is that they suffered from mental illness and didn’t have contact with their families. The three men were administered to seniors residences owned by the Laan family near Huntsville, while the shed Lawrence lived in was on property also owned by the family.
