Muskoka Lakes’ Ward C Councilor Jean-Ann Baranik has been named Deputy Mayor. The announcement came this week during the new council’s first official meeting. Baranik was part of Mayor Don Furniss’s ‘People for Probity’ slate – a collective of candidates whose ideals include treating municipal employees fairly, managing the budget effectively and protecting the environment.
