Accused kidnapper John Merkel will be back in court January 20th. Bracebridge Court officials say the 27 year old Huntsville resident is having his pre-trial date delayed until then. Merkel was arrested for kidnapping, assault and forcible confinement – allegedly holding a person for 24 hours. He and two others are also said to have forced the victim to take out money from their account at a local bank.
