Live Nation Canada plans to bring more great artists to The KEE to Bala after buying the “iconic entertainment venue” for an undisclosed amount.
“We’re thrilled to add The KEE To Bala to our growing venue portfolio and we welcome Mike Strong and Mike Homewood to our Live Nation Canada family,” says Wayne Zronik, President of Business Operations for Live Nation Canada. “Both Strong and Homewood have a strong and proven track record in hospitality and our team is dedicated to supporting them and their team’s exceptional capabilities.”
Strong and Homewood are the co-owners of The KEE.
“By joining forces with the leaders in entertainment, Live Nation, we will tap into the team’s expertise to enhance our incredible venue and create even more opportunities for fans and artists to connect, while also contributing to tourism and the local economy in the area,” said Strong.
The KEE opened in 1942 and was called Dunn’s Pavilion. It took on its current form in 1963 when its original owner Gerry Dunn sold the business to Ray Cockburn.
“The KEE to Bala has been an important part of the music scene in Muskoka for years,” writes Michael Rapino, President and Chief Executive Officer for Live Nation. “[We’re] excited to bring more great shows there with our new partners Mike Strong and Mike Homewood.”
According to Live Nation Canada, the venue has hosted acts like Blue Rodeo, Drake, The Ramones, and The Tragically Hip.
