A new Hilton hotel in Huntsville is holding its grand opening Monday.
From 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., residents are invited to stop by the Home 2 Suites to celebrate and tour the rooms.
Co-owner Darius Saplys says the grand opening is a way to celebrate the staff and tradespeople that made the project happen, with a chance to win two-night stays and Toronto Raptors tickets.
He says since the hotel finished construction in February, they’ve hired 42 people from the area, including for management positions, not to mention the bump to tourism for local businesses.
“The hotel is 100 per cent dog-friendly, so travellers can bring their dogs,” says Saplys. “It’s more of an extended stay. Every suite and room has a kitchenette. So that definitely is good for the surrounding businesses as well.”
