The COVID-19 outbreak at the Huntsville Hospital’s South Wing has been lifted.
According to Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC), nine patients and two staff tested positive over the seven-day outbreak. Officials say the South Wing has reopened for visiting, but remind people to check the visiting status of patients before coming by.
“Lifting the outbreak status before Christmas is because of our teams’ efforts to manage the outbreak and limit transmission,” says Cheryl Harrison, President and CEO of MAHC. “With the holidays nearing, please stay vigilant during respiratory illness season to protect yourself and loved ones by wearing a mask, getting vaccinated, cleaning your hands often, and staying home when you are unwell.”
