Provincial police needed to bring in the K-9 Unit to find a man after he crashed his car on Beiers Rd. in Gravenhurst.
Provincial Const. Samantha Bigley says the 38-year-old from Gravenhurst crashed his car on Jan. 1 just after midnight. She explains nearby residents came outside to help, but the lone occupant of the vehicle ran once police were called.
The Gravenhurst Fire Department arrived at the scene and handled the burning vehicle while the police hound and OPP’s Emergency Response Team looked for the driver. When he was found, Bigley says he was charged with dangerous operation and failure to stop after an accident.
A court date is scheduled next month.
