Catalytic converter stolen from truck in Bracebridge

A catalytic converter was taken off a truck parked at 345 Ecclestone Dr. in Bracebridge.

Provincial Const. Samantha Bigley says police were called by a business owner at the location who told them the part was stolen from one of their “large vehicles” on Jan. 20, likely around 5 a.m.

She describes the suspect as tall, wearing only black clothing and carrying a duffel bag.

Bigley says what makes catalytic converters theft targets is that they contain precious metals like platinum, palladium, and rhodium.

Anyone with information about what happened should call the Bracebridge OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or report anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
