Two appointed to Muskoka Airport Board of Directors

Zaina Alhillou and Eileen Waechter have been appointed to the Muskoka Airport Board of Directors.

In a media release from the District of Muskoka, Alhilou is described as “a highly regarded aviation industry expert, recognized for her innovative approach to airport capital planning and her execution of highly intricate aviation programs, all while navigating the complexities of airport operations.”

She currently serves as the director of the program management officer at Nieuport Aviation. The organization is based out of the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.

Waechter is called “an experienced aviation executive and trusted advisor, who brings a depth and diversity of knowledge and record of success across many dimensions of an airport’s business and operations.”

She recently retired from the Greater Toronto Airports Authority.

“On behalf of the Board, I want to extend a warm welcome to Eileen and Zaina to the Muskoka Airport Board of Directors,” says Don MacKay, Board Chair. “Their combined expertise and wealth of industry experience comes at an exciting time as the Board prepares to implement the airport master plan.”

The move comes as David Legge and Ashwin Jadhav are set to retire. Both were appointed to the Board when it was established in 1998.

“Both brought tremendous value to Board discussions and helped shape the future development at the airport through its new master plan,” adds Jeff Lehman, District Chair.
