The Muskoka Community Foundation (MCF) has created the Lake of Bays Community Fund to support organizations and programs that support the township.
An initial investment of $9,500 has been made for the fund.
The application process isn’t open yet, but anyone interested can donate to the fund through MCF’s website.
Mayor of Lake of Bays Terry Glover says the township benefits from many organizations that work hard to support their neighbours. He adds the partnership between the township and MCF is a positive step forward.
“To the not-for-profit charities in this community that enhance the lives of our residents, thank you for all you do,” continues Glover. “We’re incredibly proud of you, and we’re thrilled that both council and the Muskoka Community Foundation can offer you support through this program. I encourage you to jump on this opportunity and apply.”
Lynn DeCaro, executive director of MCF, says to expect details on how to apply in the coming months.
“The Lake of Bays Community Fund is an opportunity for residents, local businesses and seasonal homeowners to keep their charitable donations working in their own community, creating a lasting legacy by supporting organizations that provide vital services and programs,” adds DeCaro.
