Hands the Family Help Network says a forensic investigation is underway after it was the recent victim of a cyber incident.
In a statement on its website, Hands says it took immediate steps to isolate systems and contain the threat while also engaging third-party cybersecurity experts.
Officials say the impact on client services was minimal as they were able to return their systems to support operations.
“If the investigation determines that personal information has been impacted, affected individuals will be directly notified as soon as possible,” reads a statement on the Hands website. “We have notified relevant authorities of the incident and are fully cooperating with their investigation.”
Officials say they take the security of information in their care very seriously and are treating the investigation as a top priority.
