The District of Muskoka wants your help to shape the future of early child care

The District of Muskoka is developing an Early Learning and Child Care 5-Year Service Plan, and they want your help in shaping the area’s future.

District officials say they’ll use community input to “understand and address the needs of families, early learning professionals, and service providers over the next five years.”

“Our goal is to make sure that every child and family gets the support they need to thrive,” says Nancy Alcock, Huntsville Mayor and Chair of the Community and Planning Services Committee. “What children experience in their early years shapes their future. Investing in our children today builds a stronger Muskoka for tomorrow.”

Officials encourage everybody to share their insights and experiences about Muskoka’s existing early years and child care sector through an online survey or by participating in upcoming focus groups.

According to officials, the community survey is going to be open today until July 2.

They add two focus groups will be held to hear from parents and caregivers about their diverse experiences and needs.

  • July 8, 2024, from 1-2 pm at Bethel United Church in Huntsville
  • July 9, 2024, from 1-2 pm at Bracebridge United Church
