On Thursday and Friday, the District of Muskoka says Taylor Rd. will be completely closed from Front St. to Hiram St.
Officials say the closure will be in effect from 7 a.m. on Thursday until 4 p.m. on Friday. Taylor Rd. will be fully closed to allow UrbanLink Civil Ltd. to install a new water main while working around gas, sewer, and telecommunications lines under the road.
The installation is part of the ongoing work on the Taylor Rd. bridge.
From July 4 to 5, crews will need to fully close Taylor Road from Front Street to Hiram Street to install a new watermain and work around gas lines, Bell cables and other sewer lines all running under the road.

The other watermain was “unexpected” issue, according to officials, and is located near the rail tracks, so they need approval from the Canadian National Railway Company (CN) before moving forward.
They say another closure will be needed while the second watermain is installed, but they’re waiting for approval from CN before scheduling it.
During both closures, officials say the bridge’s sidewalks will remain open.
