The Canadian Raceboat Hall of Fame (CRHF) is set to open in Muskoka Lakes at 1512 Muskoka Rd. 118 W.
Rick Brace, chair of CRHF, shares it Canadian Raceboat Hall of Fame, shares the building will open at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 19 with a grand opening celebration on Saturday.
“The 14,000 sq. ft. facility will be the home to boats, drivers and artifacts, highlighting Canada’s legacy in boat racing from the past, present and future,” he continues.
Brace says some of the boats on display include Miss Supertest, which he says was considered one of the world’s fastest boats in the 1950s and 60s. “Plans are also underway to develop a resource centre that will include historical data and artifacts along with current up to date records and features,” he adds.
CRHF is co-founded by Bracebridge’s Murray Walker.
“My vision was to create a destination and legacy to our rich boating history,” he explains. “This has now expanded to ensure that we not only showcase the past, but also celebrate the present and future of the sport.”
