The Table Soup Kitchen Foundation is hosting a Songs for Support fundraiser event this Saturday (Aug. 3) to help the community.
Heather Cassie, foundation founder and executive director, said the event is happening from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Music on Main Cafe and Bar.
Cassie said they have been “very busy,” and this fundraiser will help maintain services and food for anyone in need.
“We have eight different services that we provide the community, and we are quite busy with guests coming,” said Cassie. “In 2023, we served 8.1 per cent of the 21,147 population of Huntsville.”
Cassie added 30 per cent of their guests come from 31 surrounding communities, and Huntsville makes up 70 per cent.
“It’s quite a happening place, and we have amazing donors from the community, but we are always in need of more funds,” she continued. “That’s where the timing of this fundraiser has really been appreciated for sure.”
She said each ticket costs $25 dollars, and they are expecting over 60 people. Cassie added they are hoping to raise around $1,500.
“I’m so excited to help support the community by sharing music,” Cassie said.
