The OPP is asking for the public’s help after a disturbance at a retail store in Bracebridge yesterday.
Shortly before 4:00 p.m., Bracebridge OPP says officers were dispatched to attend a store on Depot Dr. after three people were attempting to shoplift.
Police say when confronted by staff, the situation escalated, and one produced an edged weapon with the three then fleeing on foot.
The OPP says witnesses provided descriptions of the suspects and pointed the direction in which they ran, adding no one was seriously injured during the interaction.
The area was contained while officers, the OPP K-9 unit, and an OPP drone searched the area, but the suspects weren’t found.
The investigation is ongoing.
