Bracebridge’s Ethan Roos represented Muskoka in the first Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association Rookie All-Star showcase game.
Roos played for the west team on Nov. 2 against some of the best freshmen players of the Lacrosse association.
“It was fun, and it was great to be there,” says Roos. “I tried to represent Muskoka as best I could and represent my team as well as I could.”
The game was hosted by Lacrosse Canada and was part of the Baggataway Cup in St. Catharines.
Roos is currently taking the Outdoor Adventure Leadership program at Laurentian University in Sudbury and says he plays goalie for the Laurentian Voyageurs.
“We had a ten-game season, the team’s great. They had a lot of fun this year and just happened that I got selected, got nominated for it,” says Roos.
Roos says he started playing Lacrosse when he was a kid and has been in love with the sport since.
Roos adds his family was “super excited and proud” that he was selected, and plans on teaching the sport when he graduates.
“I’m going to play university lacrosse for as long as I can and for the whole five years I’m here,” Roos says.
