Nominations open for YWCA Muskoka Women of Distinction Awards

Nominations are now open for YWCA Muskoka’s 19th Women of Distinction Awards to recognize outstanding women in Muskoka.

Hannah Lin, Executive Director of YWCA Muskoka, says the event is an inspiration to others and someone who has made a commitment to her community as a leader and a role model.

“As a catalyst for change, a Women of Distinction breaks new ground and old barriers. She shows vision, creativity and initiative and has improved the lives of those in Muskoka,” she said.

The six categories to nominate women are:

  • The Young Woman of Distinction category recognizes a woman aged 30 and under who is making significant contributions to her school, community and/or work place.
  • The Arts, Culture and Creativity category recognizes a woman who enriches lives through her contributions to the arts and cultural activities of Muskoka.
  • The Health, Sports and Wellness category recognizes a woman who has directed her energies to the well-being of people in her life and/or the Muskoka community.
  • The Transforming Community category recognizes a woman who has helped build a strong community by making changes and advocating for a better quality of life.
  • The Innovation and Entrepreneurship category recognizes a woman who has achieved success in entrepreneurial endeavours, business, trades and/or the professions in private, public or not-for-profit organizations.
