Silver Bridge on Ecclestone Drive has been closed due to an emergency structural assessment.
According to the District of Muskoka, there will be no access across Silver Bridge for vehicles or pedestrians.
Mark Misko, director of engineering and transportation with the district, says they closed it so a consultant can look at “structural portions of the bridge.”
“Our operations crew noticed some the bridge needed an additional structural assessment,” says Misko. “It’s out of an abundance of caution.”
Officials with the Town of Bracebridge say Bus Stop 120 – Bird Mill Mews at 3 Ecclestone Drive will be affected by the temporary road closure, adding it will remain closed until further notice.
They advise using Bus Stop 110 – Ecclestone Drive at Young Street or Bus Stop 260 – Taylor Road at Hiram Street as alternatives.
