MAHC dealing with ‘unprecedented hospital occupancy’

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare is asking for patience if you’re attending the local hospitals.

In its newsletter today (Thursday), officials say the two sites have faced a significant surge of patients and unprecedented hospital occupancy amidst respiratory illness in the community, and challenges with patient flow and staffing.

While similar surges have been seen in hospitals across Ontario, local officials say tremendous efforts have been expended to provide the best possible care managing the overwhelming volumes.
