Bracebridge calls artists for downtown mural

The Town of Bracebridge is looking for an artist to paint a mural downtown.

The Town of Bracebridge and the Downtown BIA are calling for expressions of interest from professional artists, with submissions due by March 27 at 3 p.m.

Officials say the mural is located on a prominent exterior brick wall measuring approximately 20 feet by 40 feet in downtown Bracebridge, adding it is part of is part of the Town’s ongoing commitment to enhancing public art and celebrating the beauty of the community.

Officials say public feedback from the Town’s Engage Bracebridge survey inspired the mural’s theme, which officials say will focus on nature and the environment.

“The Town of Bracebridge will provide financial compensation to the selected artist to complete the mural, in addition to an honorarium for up to three shortlisted artists to develop detailed design mock-ups,” say town officials.

According to the town, the selection process will be managed by the Town’s Public Art Advisory Committee, which includes a BIA representative.

“The completed mural is expected to be unveiled in the fall of 2025,” say officials.
