A prominent veteran in the Parry Sound area has passed away.
World War II veteran and member of the Algonquin Regiment and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 117 passed away Friday at the age of 90.
History teacher at Parry Sound High School Richard Lund expresses his sorrow of the news and the sorrow of his students.
Lund explains how Jack was always willing to help students remember.

Lund says it’s a huge loss to the community, especially for the local youth.
Visitation will be held this Friday from 2:00pm-4:00pm and from 7:00pm until 9:00pm at Logan’s Funeral Home and a celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Saturday at 11:00am.
