The Warden at Beaver Creek institution has ordered a lock down of the minimum security unit after an inmate was seriously injured.
Early this morning an inmate was found to have been victim of an assault in the security unit the Institution.
The injured inmate was immediately evaluated by staff members and transported to hospital to receive treatment.
The Correctional Service of Canada will investigate the cause of this incident and will continue to work with the police.
