A snapping turtle in Muskoka owes its life to one OSPCA employee.
Cruelty Enforcement Agent Luke Thompson was in the Bracebridge area when he heard a call about an injured turtle.

Thompson quickly helped the turtle out of the water despite it’s natural response to try and bite him.
He was able to bring it to a turtle shelter in Peterborough where they removed a fishing hook from inside it’s throat.
Thompson says the turtle, which was affectionately named Shelton, is doing well recovering at the shelter.
