Muskoka Victim Services searches for new funding

Muskoka Victims Services was recognized Wednesday night during council in Bracebridge.
Mayor Graydon Smith commented on the amount of work the organization has done to help victims across Muskoka.
During the presentation the group commented on the issue of funding, which has recently been restructured for Victim Services across Ontario.
Board chair for the organization Dawn Novak says funding is their number one issue.
Novak says they are funded for supporting victims of crime but not victims of crisis, which is what the majority of victims rely on the service for.
The organization will be starting up a major funding campaign to continue to provide service to all victims.
