The Gravenhurst winter carnival was in full swing today.
Events included a polar bear dip, snowmobile drag racing and lots of other interactive activities.
Brave souls dunked themselves in icy water at the wharf, to the howls of delight from onlookers.
Snowmobilers were looking for the quickest starts off the line for bragging rights as the fastest among the fast. There was also a snowmobile skipping demonstration where riders turn their winter sled into a Sea-doo for a few metres over open water.
Other events included bed racing, nail driving, and arm wrestling. If eating is more your style you can try and crush the most donuts or wings, though not recommended at the same time.
The carnival continues tomorrow all day.
The sun was warm but wow the water was apparently a little chilly. Lots of brave souls jumping into Gull Lake this afternoon to celebrate winter carnival. Way to go to our own Stephanie  Saunders! You are a trooper. Lip Sync last night &in the water today.
