Nominees for Innovation Awards released

The Parry Sound Muskoka Community Network has released the finalists for its Innovation Awards.

There are six awards total and 13 nominees. Each Innovation Award comes with a prize of $1,000 and is meant to help establish a launch pad for the winners to get access to the federal government’s new $755 million Social Finance Fund.

Here is a list of the nominees:

  • Muskoka Whole Place Living Hub – Gayle Dempsey & Gary Froud – Port Carling
  • The Snow lake Initiative – Jamie Payne – Huntsville
  • Shining Waters Soap Co. – Linda J Howes-Smyth – Gravenhurst
  • Live.Love.Lake – Lori Auld – Parry Sound
  • Muskoka Fire Pits – Pascal Garrido – Gravenhurst
  • Muskoka Lawn Bowling Club – Ken Geller – Bracebridge
  • Tea·Beards – Alissa Ahsome & Johnny Ahsome – Gravenhurst
  • Sheertex – Katherine Homuth – Bracebridge
  • Beebagz – Kristi MacDonald – Huntsville
  • Muskoka Yarn Connection – Michele Meadows – Bracebridge
  • Parry Sound Public Library – Rita Orr, Kristina Brics, Hartley Hutchinson – Parry Sound

The winners will be announced on April 11th at the annual IMPACT Awards gala at the JW Marriott in Minett.
