Bracebridge residents needing financial help due to flood-related costs can now register through the Red Cross.
The town announced it had partnered with the Canadian Red Cross so those affected can get access to the Ontario Flood Appeal and local fundraising.
To register, people are asked to call 1-800-863-6582.
The town is also urging residents to make donations to the Ontario Flood Appeal. They can do so at the Town of Bracebridge Offices or through the town website (click here). Donations made through the town will ensure all funds stay local.
Donors are eligible for a tax receipt.
Any residents that had flooded properties that resulted in hydro being cut off are reminded to call the Electrical Safety Authority at 1-877-372-7233 or contact a qualified electrical contractor for inspection prior to restoring service.
Vouchers for waste disposal continue to be available for property owners that have flood-related debris. They can be picked up during business hours at the town offices and must be used by July 3rd.
Sandbags can be dropped off free of charge at the Rosewarne Transfer station during normal operating hours, no voucher needed.
The boil water advisory remains in place for those with properties that rely on well water and were flooded. The municipal water supply remains safe.
Fraserburg Road has re-opened however remains flooded in some areas. Crews will be in the area undertaking road repairs and motorists are asked to proceed with caution.
Beaumont Drive remains open to local traffic only and Santa’s Village Road remains closed in the area of Leslie Drive.
