PORT SYDNEY, ON- Greg Wilson has gotten an award.
The Port Sydney/Utterson Chamber of Commerce has named Wilson their Citizen of the Year, due to his significant contribution to the local community.
“To qualify, a recipient must: live in the community; exemplify community spirit; add to the quality of life for others in the community; and be known for ‘going the extra mile’ by volunteering when he or she sees a need,” read the chamber’s announcement.
“This year’s recipient was chosen for being one who: never lets anyone down; always goes over and above; takes time out of his own schedule to help others; genuinely cares about our community and everyone who lives here; and for being a positive person who always has a big smile.”
The chamber said that Wilson was born and raised in Port Sydney, and is a well known face in the community. He has developed a reputation for being knowledgeable, reliable, helpful, and friendly during his 25 plus years working at Dean’s Home Hardware.
They said it was their pleasure to give him the award.
